The 4th Annual Kids’ Science Challenge

Kids' Science ChallengeRegistration for the Kids’ Science Challenge, a free nationwide competition for 3rd to 6th graders, opened today for it’s fourth year. The competition gives kids the opportunity to submit experiments and problems for real scientists and engineers to solve. Plus kids can play science games, watch videos, and enter to win awesome prizes and trips.

This year’s topics:

  • Zero Waste

  • Meals on Mars

Through the competition kids research these topics, brainstorm ideas, and submit their experiments or problems for scientists to solve. The winning students are given the opportunity to work with real scientists to bring their ideas to life.

The first 1,000 entrants receive a free science activity kit with hands-on projects related to the three science topics. Other prizes include science kits, science equipment and cool science toys.

The competition is open between October 1, 2011 and February 29, 2012.
