Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter
August 27, 2016
Don’t miss the spectacular conjunction of Venus and Jupiter that will be visible in the evening sky to observers. The two bright planets will be extremely close, appearing only 0.06 degrees apart. The next time that Venus and Jupiter will be this close to each other will be in November of 2065. As an added bonus stargazers will also be able to spot Mercury which will be in close proximity to the planets.
The best time to see this exciting pairing will be 30 to 60 minutes after sunset in the western sky. Due to the fact that these planets will be so close to each other, they will easily fit within the same binocular or telescopic field of view.
