We’ve seen a lot of strange injuries in Professional sports, but a Drone-related injury is definitely first…
Last night in the MLB ALC championship series, Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer had to leave the game after just a few pitches due to an injury. The injury? A split-open finger; a result of his off-field drone hobby.
Bauer had sliced his finger open while assembling a drone, which he promptly had stitched up. Within in the first inning of Game 3, Bauer’s right hand looked a leaky faucet. Through just a number of pitches, his stitches split open and he was forced to sit out the rest of the game. Luckily for any of you Cleveland fans out there, they still won the game putting them at a 3-0 lead in the series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
All this being said, go out and fly your drones! Just follows all safety precautions and tips (and take the batteries out while you’re assembling, if you happen to be assembling a drone)!
P.S. Trevor Bauer actually is pretty great at this off-field hobby. Check out his Drone youtube channel here!
